Why Rob Roy Academy?

ROB ROY ACADEMYwas founded in 1979,
in Worcester, Massachusetts by Robert Lapierre and
Roy Samra. Together with their experienced and professional
staff they have created a well established
accredited and licensed academy that has been
preparing students for exciting, creative and rewarding
careers for over twenty-five years. We have four
campus locations in Massachusetts: Worcester, Fall
River, Taunton and New Bedford. We are proud to
announce our newly opened campus located in
Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Please refer to the
orange coded pages of this brochure for course
offerings and requirements for the Woonsocket
campus. All locations offer exceptional training for
exciting careers in style.
Our mission is to provide our students with a quality
education, which ensures technical confidence,
self-assurance and the interpersonal skills necessary
to obtain licensure, as well as a rewarding career in
the beauty and barber industry.

Programmes
Fun, exciting and always changing cosmetology is a dynamic career choice. Students work on practical assignments using mannequins and fellow students while learning the basic fundamentals. A gradual progression then occurs to the customer, under the supervision of a licensed instructor.
The curriculum is varied and comprehensive. After completing this course you will be prepared to pass the required Massachusetts State Board Exam and start your exciting new career.

Student Services

Placement Assistance
Rob Roy‘s placement policy is to give employment
assistance to graduates regardless of the
date of their graduation. Rob Roy Academy
employs a placement advisor who is careful to
take into consideration the qualifications of its
graduates, and its responsibilities to the
shop/salon owner to make certain the candidate
for employment is competent in every phase of
his or her profession. Rob Roy Academy does
not guarantee employment or specific salaries
upon graduation.

Student Advising
All instructors and staff personnel are available to
each student for career, academic, and personal
advising. The advising is sincere, friendly and
always confidential.

Tutoring
Available for students who need additional
instruction. See your instructor for an available
time.

Graduation
In order to graduate from Rob Roy Academy in
Cosmetology, Barber/ Styling, Esthetics, or
Manicuring students must:
1. Successfully complete their program’s
course hours.
2. Meet Satisfactory Progress policies of
the Academy.
3. Satisfy tuition obligations/overtime charges.
Rob Roy Academy holds a cap and gown
graduation ceremony once each calendar year
for graduates of all programs. Each student is
awarded a diploma at the completion of his/her
training program.
